I am an artist who explores many different mediums, and a newcomer to the art of Encaustic painting, I am quickly developing a particular passion for the use of heat with wax, and the unpredictability of the outcome.

A native to Colorado, born and raised in South Denver, I now reside in Lakewood Colorado.  I am a self taught artist whose desire  for art developed at a very early age.  I began with drawing, making batik's, and working with pen & ink.  Later I found myself to be a very detailed oil painter and worked in that medium for several years.  Finding my self struggling with the ability to loosen up, I tried painting with knives in oil, and began to use water color medium to help with the process.  I then began working with digital art using Procreate on my iPad, but found that I was immediately pulled back into the world of detail.  Abandoning that I took a two day class in encaustic painting, falling in love with the process and procedure, I am now hooked and likely to stay with this medium of fire for quite some time.

 

I owned a successful picture framing business from 2010-2024.   I am now semi-retired and beginning the adventure of trying to turn my talent into a new business.
